Dear Valued Stakeholders,
Every November, people all over the world show their support for men’s health. This global initiative is led by the Mo Bros, November is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Men’s Health Awareness Month is dedicated to bringing awareness to a wide range of men’s health issues. As we focus on men this month, we can’t ignore that men tend to be more reluctant to seek help or treatment for their mental health struggles. Let us help empower women and men to take control of their health by educating them about their body and providing important mental health resources.
Given the societal pressures, cultural norms, and beliefs that make men reluctant to seek treatment and address their mental health concerns, there is a critical need to provide mental health treatment options that are appealing to men. By providing a much greater degree of anonymity, self-directness, autonomy in emotional disclosure, and practical tools, mental health programs such as ICAS Health are promising treatment options for men.
The effects of men’s health go beyond the patient. As caregivers, family members, colleagues sometimes share sad challenges that a loved one goes through mental health issues.
Let us therefore unite and commemorate this month as best we can, growing our beard this month.
Best
