Job Purpose
To build, sustain and advance the Authority’s database to ensure efficient and effective management of information, and developing and optimizing applications to support regulatory and administrative operations and decision making and ensure compliance with BOMRA and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will:
1. Install, upgrade and configure databases and applications in accordance with BoMRA policy, standards and requirements to support the regulatory and administrative operations of the Authority.
2. Monitor and maintain the environment for database standards and security adherence to ensure compliance with BoMRA policies and technical specifications.
3. Develop security standards for databases, including account creation, profile setup, upgrading, auditing etc. to ensure performance continuity.
4. Establish the needs of users by undertaking surveys to find out the accessibility and security challenges in different operations to ensure quality service delivery.
5. Participate in the evaluation, review and design, implementation of new and major enhancements of business applications to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the Authority’s operations.
6. Provide database support for all applications by deploying change requests through change control processes, code review, working with customers and developers to troubleshoot issues and problems to ensure optimal reliability.
7. Regularly monitor data systems and processes to ensure information provided continues to be accurately produced at the right time and maintained in accordance with BoMRA and statutory requirements.
8. Provide Authority-wide advisory and consultancy services on all aspects of data management to ensure the Authority leverages its ICT resources for high productivity.
9. Carry out future customizations and configure the digital solutions.
10. Maintain awareness of development in the storage and handling of data and review the applications of new technologies to improve operations of the Authority.
Qualifications And Experience
Academic Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science or related field from a recognized institution. Professional certifications in database management and application development are required.
Experience:
5 years post qualifications experience in ICT, with at least two years in database management.
Competencies:
The incumbent is expected to demonstrate good proficiency level in the following competencies: Analytical Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Confidentiality and Discretion, Teamwork, Database Management, Data Management and Analytics, as well as Project Management.
