The Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (“BoMRA”) was established under the
Medicines and Related Substances Act, with a mandate to regulate medicines, medical
devices, and cosmetics to promote human and animal health, and ensure that the
medicinal products meet the standard quality, safety and efficacy. In our endeavor to
carry out the above function, BoMRA will undertake a stakeholder engagement of the
Medicines and Related Substances Act, its regulations, and associated guidelines.
The Import/Export unit under the Department of Licensing and Enforcement will conduct
a virtual stakeholder engagement to discuss the guideline for Import/Export of medicines.
The stakeholder engagement targets all the relevant stakeholders inclusive of Couriers,
Clearing Agents and Cross Border transporters involved in the supply chain of medicine.
